Pendant lights work almost anywhere; they can be suspended from the ceiling into the room. For the bedroom, choose a pendant light with a covered light source that provides indirect light and does not shine directly into your eyes, even when you are lying in bed. Today, you can choose from many styles of pendant lamps—classic white spheres, colored glass shades, plastic cutouts, or patterned fabric shades. Some pendant designer lamps also include a cable support system that holds the weight of the light. This allows designers to use the cable for more than just supplying electricity and are not limited by the weight of the shade. As a result, the light fixture can be more spectacular, made of heavier materials. Such pendant lights are often a design feature that becomes the focal point of the room.
